Washington: After the Nobel peace prize fiasco, it's the world's most powerful person's list that arouses double thoughts on the concept of power. The Forbes' most powerful list, which stands to encourage the different entities of the world, has ended up featuring gruesome criminals like Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden and the 'boss of Mumbai-based organised crime syndicate D-Company' Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar. As a company to the criminals, the list features political leaders like U.S. President Barrack Obama, the President of the Republic of China Hu Jintao and Russia's PM Vladimir Putin as the top three powerful people.

The magazine states that their goal in compiling this list is to expose power and not glorify it. It took into consideration the influence of the person, whether they control relatively large financial resources compared with their peers and are they powerful in multiple spheres. But how far is it justified? Can 'influence through terror' be considered a criteria to judge power?

Dawood, head of the infamous 'D-Company', is wanted by India in connection with the 1993 serial blasts in Mumbai and has been listed by the U.S. as 'Specially Designated Global Terrorist' for funding al-Qaeda. Osama Bin Laden, set off a "global war on terror" and two U.S-led wars costing over $1 trillion. People around the world blow themselves up in his name. Mexico's most-wanted drug lord, Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, who escaped prison and his fortune seems to grow with each passing day, is reigning at 41 position in the list.

The terror-powered influence have even taken over the real voices of the world. Leaders like Lakshmi Mittal, Nicolas Sarkozy, Steve Jobs and Ratan Tata, who has always led the people's voices in their own fields could somehow manage to clamp the bottom of the list.
